Description
From Sharper Image. this interactive dinosaur controls moods via built-in sensors and has a full range of emotions. He walks, spins, growls, snores and yawns and his owner just needs to pet the IR sensor to calm his mood when he gets upset. The glowing LED lights change colour to reflect the mood and his eyes turn blue when he gets bored and enters sleep mode.
With 2.4Ghz remote control and a 30m range, set the Robotosaur to hunt mode to find items around the room and use the motion detection to guard your room and alert you of intruders.
What our testers said
“He’s going hunting, I wonder what he will find.” – Boy aged 7
“Watch this, ‘SIT!’ He’s like a pet, you can get him to follow commands.” – Girl aged 9
What our experts think
The Robotosaur makes a great addition to children’s imaginative play and also helps encourage them to identify and explain different emotions. This is a fun way to aid their social development and build their emotional vocabulary, as they work out how the dinosaur is feeling from its eyes and chest pad and work out how to make it feel better.
Our testers found the controls easy to use and a further look at the instructions helped them work out how to teach the robot tricks, which the children found very exciting! Incorporating the Robotosaur into their other play was also great for their storytelling skills as they narrated what the dinosaur was doing, whether that was carrying LEGO figures on an expedition, setting off a domino track or even guarding the biscuit jar!
