What our experts think
The Princess Coralie Make Up and Hair Style Head offers lots of creative opportunities for children to role play as hairdresser or make up artist, allowing them to experiment creatively and develop their communication skills too. The children were eager to use the stickers to decorate the doll and had lots of fun trying different hairstyles. This made a change for adults and siblings who were used to being practiced on!
As well as allowing them to express their creativity – brushing and styling the hair, putting on the make up and threading the beads helps children to improve their dexterity and hand-eye coordination, with more control in their hands and fingers. This is an important part of their developing self-care ability, which gives them confidence and responsibility to take care of their own health and wellbeing. As they work together with their peers and talk to their ‘client’, children are also developing their social skills through their growing language and vocabulary.
