Learning mathematical concepts such as weights and measures as well as managing money can be daunting for young children. We particularly liked the open-ended play opportunities that this offers with boys and girls playing together, for example the children gained a lot from the extended role play too including a discussion on healthy eating and ways to sell more sweets.
