What our expert thinks
A great interactive toy that helps children develop their recognition of number, shape, colour and letters in a fun and engaging way. Learning about these concepts is great preparation for pre-school education, where children will develop their phonic learning and basic counting skills. The questions are good for encouraging children to respond and challenging their recognition skills in a fun way, which progresses learning and prepares them for a teacher/classroom environment.
Although the toy was intuitive to use, we found that the younger children benefited from having adult support to maximise the learning potential of the toy; the children didn’t understand how to press the buttons in order to answer Mr Tumble’s questions. However, with adult input, they could develop their hand-eye coordination and basic cause and effect logic (i.e. I press this and a noise happens).
