What our expert think
The soft and cute looking soft toy dog comes with a bluetooth speaker hidden inside that connects to an app. Set up was generally straightforward and our testers were excited to start using their new “friend”.
TATE comes with a variety of stories to listen to and activities to try such as calming breathing techniques and affirmations. Children and parents appreciated the variety of stories and activities as it meant there were suitable options for different circumstances and different moods. Parents of children who struggled to go to sleep and/or stay asleep saw a positive impact after using TATE as part of the bedtime routine.
The dog’s soft fur was comforting for children and helpful for calming them, while the textured ‘Breathing Paws’ were popular and helped children to self-regulate and self-soothe. Also, the calm atmosphere TATE promoted, encouraged children to open up about their feelings and made them more receptive to having meaningful conversations with their parents.
