What our experts think
A vibrant discovery table with lots for baby to build and explore whilst kneeling or standing. We loved how chunky the pieces were – they grabbed the children’s attention and were perfect for little hands to manipulate. The children really enjoyed building towers with the blocks – this is a great activity for developing hand-eye coordination and hand and finger strength.
There are also opportunities for learning basic cause and effect logic, as the children explored the effects of their actions in spinning the wheels or knocking over the blocks. Children can also match shapes to the right holes, building their colour and shape recognition skills. The table allowed younger testers to pull themselves up, strengthening muscles in their arms and legs that they need as they learn to stand and walk. We found that the children could balance themselves against the table, but that it was best for an adult to hold it to stop it from toppling over.
