This Space Shuttle building kit provides a great way to develop logical thinking skills as children have the option to construct one model, take it apart and make five different creations. This teaches them about following instructions, perseverance and understanding the logical steps in a process. One child was even inspired to go away and design their own model on pen and paper to construct – this shows great planning and visual thinking skills which are an important part of STEM learning.
The construction kit also makes a great toy for fostering collaboration as children are encouraged to use team work and communication to build the model successfully. It is worth noting that some children may need some adult support with the more fiddly elements of the model, although construction is a great way to continue to improve dexterity and hand-eye coordination too.
