“Check this out! I figured out the secret to the disappearing ball trick. Want me to show you?” – Boy, aged 10

What our experts think

Our testers were very excited to start exploring the various tricks in the kit, and while at first most tricks did require significant adult assistance to understand and perform, the children remained engaged and enthusiastic throughout. Each magic trick presented a unique challenge for the children to master, and the practice required to perfect the tricks helped to develop perseverance as they worked on their performances.

Learning the tricks required the children to carefully follow instructions and pay close attention to detail – important skills for life.  As they practiced they became more competent, eventually performing the tricks with little or no guidance, which grew their confidence and sense of achievement.

The social aspect of the game also supports communication skills, as children demonstrate their tricks to others, practicing clear communication that will engage their audience. A fun and engaging set that also helps build a number of important skills.
