This Harry Potter themed puzzle challenges children to develop their problem-solving and logical thinking skills to build a beautiful 3D rendering of Hogwarts Castle. The model looks very realistic when finished, providing a wonderful sense of achievement for children to display. 3D puzzles encourage children to use their visual thinking and planning skills, as they use their knowledge of how the finished, real world object is supposed to look to inform their construction.
The children worked together and followed the instructions, which is a great way to develop their teamwork and communication skills. We did find that it helps if you empty out all of the pieces at the start and sort them by section first, which can be a little time consuming. However, momentum picked up when the children could see they were getting somewhere with the puzzle build and were excited to persevere.
