The recognisable sorting hat from the Harry Potter books and films provides a springboard for imaginative play and also is great for encouraging turn-taking. All of our testers were very excited to hear what house they would be in and some of the children even put the hat on their dolls to find out their Hogwarts house! The younger children did need a little more help than the older ones to hold the hat on their head and press the button as it was quite heavy. The hat was fantastic for role play, as the children brought it to life by adding their Harry Potter dressing up clothes and role-playing the famous scene from the film. The moving mouth on the hat was a hit with our testers and this was what was really engaging as it was exactly like in the films.
