What our testers said

“I really like doing this puzzle because it’s 3D!” – Girl aged 10

“This is really cool, I like the design.” – Boy aged 9

What our experts think

This puzzle really appealed to our testers, who love the style and design, as well as the novelty of building a 3-D shape. It was a little more challenging but the numbers on the back (which all of our testers used to make the puzzle) meant that children weren’t put off buy the difficulty. The challenge level was just right, promoting perseverance.

This puzzle is brilliant for quiet, screen-free play for older children and, as well as developing their problem solving skills, also develops their concentration. Hand-eye coordination is well developed at this age, but the puzzle has small pieces that need to be put together carefully, so it helps refine this skill further. Our testers weren’t interested in taking the shoe apart to put it back together again, but it makes a nice model for children to be proud of.
