What our experts think
Our testers thoroughly enjoyed acting out farm life using all of the different animals, and the extra pieces like saddles and food really added to their imaginative play. This is ideal for creativity and sets like this also encourage children to play together.
It was wonderful to see even young children comparing the different farm animals, discussing their knowledge such as what food animals eat and what baby animals look like. They enjoyed grouping the animals by species and talking about their favourite animals. This is great for understanding the world and encouraging speech and language.
Older children thought about caring for the animals, e.g. calling a vet if they are unwell, helping to develop empathy.
