Description
Baby Ava is the perfect first doll for little ones who want to play grown-up. With an adorable face and sparkly eyes, Ava is a loveable companion for little ones. Dressed in a cosy all-in-one and matching attached beanie hat, this baby doll is the perfect size and great for feeding and dressing. Little ones can easily remove Ava’s onesie and have fun dressing the doll and get them ready for bed.
Roleplaying with dolls helps to develop children’s imagination and social skills as they play.
What our testers said
“Baby go sleep.” – Girl aged 2
“Come on, get in the car.” – Girl aged 3
What our experts think
The doll’s size and soft body makes her lightweight and easy for little ones to hold and carry. Our testers seemed to like the doll’s detailed hands and feet and noticed how her eyes closed when she lay down. Some children cuddled her and rocked her in their arms, while others attempted to take off her removable baby-gro. Most succeeded on their own, but getting it back on was more tricky, and they needed adult help. With practice, trying to do things like this develops children’s fine motor skills, which will help them tackle tasks such as buttoning their clothes and using zips. The hat that comes as part of the outfit is attached to the baby-gro, which is a great idea to stop it getting easily lost.
Dolls are perfect toys for encouraging imaginative play and for developing social and emotional skills, such as empathy. Children can reenact what they have seen adults do, and ‘practise’ for real life scenarios in the future. Our testers enjoyed putting the doll to bed by laying her down and covering her with a blanket. She was also lucky enough to be taken for a spin in a ride-on car. What a busy time she had!
