What our experts think
Our testers enjoyed stacking and building with the cubes, as well as looking through the translucent cubes individually and overlapping. The variety of colours, combined with the translucency of the blocks sparked imagination and a curiosity about light and colour. During family play, children were encouraged to use a light beam through the cubes and their larger builds to create various light projections on the table or wall – this was a captivating activity for many of the younger children. The older children and families craved more activity challenges than what was presented on the packaging. However, those with a special interest in construction, light, and colour science can use the cubes for their self-motivated builds and investigations.
The CMY Plato’s Cubes set promotes fine motor and perceptual skills, pre-math and math skills, and sparks a curiosity – it is ideal for 3-to-6-year-old children, at this time, in the home, childcare, and classroom settings.
