What our experts think
Climb is a beautifully illustrated book with a lovely message about loving yourself as you are and embracing our differences and own unique talents. The children enjoyed reading and discussing the book’s message and reflecting on why it is good to be different. This is a great way to help develop important social and emotional skills such as social awareness, empathy and resilience.
The activities included at the back make a nice addition and we found they worked particularly well with an adult present, to encourage and extend the discussion and explain some of the more complex words. Reflecting and talking about a story helps children to develop important communication and language skills as they are encouraged to vocalise their thoughts and feelings.
