Description
A fun game of chance for all the family. There’s no hanging around in this fast paced game, as players battle to collect the most bananas – but watch out for other players trying to steal them! Players must make strategic decisions by choosing whether to play it safe after their first turn or spin the spinner to either collect or risk losing more bananas.
Children will enjoy hanging their monkeys onto the 3D tree, which adds another fun dimension to this exciting game.
What our testers said
“Two bananas, keep going, yes!” Girl aged 4
“Ha ha I have to steal your monkey.” Boy aged 4
What our experts think
Cheeky Monkeys was a popular game with our testers, particularly those who enjoyed being naughty and stealing each other’s bananas! The game is quick to play which is perfect for short attention spans, and we love the way children were practising counting, adding and subtracting without even noticing.
Playing simple board games like this is a great way to get young children interacting and developing their social skills, although the turn taking was a bit unusual (players can spin as many times as they want) which was confusing for younger children. There was some arguing over stolen bananas and frustration over the luck element (the spinner landing where they didn’t want it to), but this is a good way for children to learn about winning and losing in a friendly way.
