What our experts think
This bright and colourful book is great for engaging younger children in reading before bedtime and has a lovely message. The space adventure theme was engaging and funny phrases such as “galloping galaxies” and “zippity zap” made the children laugh. Alliteration like this is a fun way of helping children to work on their phonics as they repeat the different sounds and practice blending them into words.
The message of the book is that when you have each other, you are never alone. Our testers found this great for encouraging conversation around their child feeling safe and identifying who they have to comfort them, especially if they similar fears (for example, one of the children shared the character’s fear of thunder).
