Description

The BABY PHONICS book by SmartNoggin introduces your baby to the 44 phonemes (sounds) found in the English language, which form the foundation of language and literacy development.

Research shows that babies begin building these essential skills in their first year as their brains make neural connections, sorting and storing the phonemes they hear daily. By listening to words spoken, read, or sung in English, babies develop the ability to recognise and recall these sounds.

Key features:

  • Focuses on the 44 phonemes in the English language
  • Helps strengthen neural connections for future language and literacy
  • Supports early development of speech and reading skills

The BABY PHONICS book helps lay the groundwork for future learning by allowing babies to hear each phoneme used in words and in isolation.

What our testers said

What our experts think

This book is a great introduction to phonic sounds for even the very youngest children. When parents or carers shared the book with the child it was great to see children pointing to pictures of familiar objects. Older children were able to say the name of the picture and parents could help them follow the sounds in the word below.

The simple lay out and phonetically correct sounds make this a lovely introduction to the world of phonics and will help boosts children’s confidence with reading as they start to sound out words themselves.
