Description
Artie Max is a programmable robot featuring colour, personality and creative coding possibilities for STEAM-powered fun. Learn 5 advanced coding languages (Blocky, Snap!, JavaScript, Python and C++) on a secure, private Wifi connection – no internet needed!
Easy set-up has kids coding within minutes as they choose a design, build the code, and then see Artie moving across the paper using coloured markers to unleash their inner artist! Along with building a child’s confidence and STEM learning, Artie’s LED eyes light up!
What our testers said
“I love how when you put the program in, he does whatever you say.” – Boy aged 9
“So after this, we can try to create our own shape. I think we have to decide the angles we want and put it into the code.” – Girl aged 11
What our experts think
Artie Max the Coding Robot combines coding with drawing shapes and offers a fun way to introduce children to reading and using the language of coding and programming. This is great for helping them to develop communication and visual processing skills – as they build an understanding of what the instruction means for the movement of the robot, by visualising and planning it mentally.
This promotes the use of active problem-solving skills too as if things go wrong, children are encouraged to apply and test out different solutions to see what works. This is one of the most important parts of STEAM learning, as it brings concepts of science and maths into the real world and encourages children to be innovative. We found it was useful to have an adult present to complete the set-up and guide the learning process to start with, but once they got going, children were very engaged in play.
