This game is a fantastic and engaging activity to help children understand and navigate their varied emotions. Not only does it encourage recognition but also assists emotional regulation with the coping skills cards included.
Our testers found the game to be incredibly useful for helping children self regulate. They said it helped children identify and label the emotions they were feeling, held their attention well and calmed them down when upset. They said the children were actively asking for the game when they felt overwhelmed and using the cards, were able to discuss how they felt with an adult and then choose a coping card to help. The five finger breathing skill was a popular choice for the youngest testers.
