Description
The gnome is a DIT (do it together) family mascot and travel companion. No two will ever be the same and can be designed by and for every kind of family. Families can choose the skin colour, outfits, interests…endless possibilities.
The kit includes a copy of the My Gnome on the Roam Award Winning Story Book, an adventure journal filled with blank pages, a colourless DIT gnome and a magical pen. After reading the story book, families are encouraged to take their gnome out to explore the world beyond their own picket fence, to record their story and to share it together.
The app and community offer daily ideas and inspiration for adventures.

What our experts think
The Gnome on the Roam creative kit encourages children to express themselves creatively through reading and writing as well as providing opportunities for family bonding time. It is great that the gnome comes unpainted, as the children enjoy bringing him to life with paints, colours, stickers and so on.
We found the set particularly beneficial for encouraging bonding between siblings of different ages, as the included story does a good job of catering to both younger and older children and keeping them engaged and interested. The open ending allows them to continue to take the gnome on their own adventures, which is a lovely touch as it extends the creative play.
In addition to the story book, the included notebook and pen encourage children to jot down ideas and record the gnome’s adventures which is an engaging way to develop their writing, language and storytelling skills.
